What is indie dog?

Indie Dog, also known as Independent Dog, is a term used to describe a breed of dog that is not recognized by major kennel clubs and does not fit into any specific breed category. These dogs are often classified as mixed breed or mutts, but they can also be purebred dogs that have not been officially recognized.

Indie dogs can come in a variety of sizes, shapes, and colors, depending on their genetic background. They may have characteristics of multiple breeds or may have a unique appearance that sets them apart from other dogs.

These dogs are often adopted from shelters or rescue organizations, as they may not be in demand like popular purebred breeds. However, they can make wonderful companions and are known for their loyalty, intelligence, and adaptability.

Despite not having a specific breed standard, indie dogs can be just as loving and enjoyable as any other dog. They are often prized for their individuality and one-of-a-kind personalities.
